The Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2023

Ardtorna is honoured to feature in ‘The Red Section‘ of The Michelin Guide. This section at the front of the Guide book details the top 10% of Michelins top rated establishments throughout Britain and Ireland.
Ardtorna has featured in each guide book since 2011.

Scotland's Best B & B / Guest House 2023

Ardtorna was thrilled to be awarded this at The Scottish Hotel Awards (Prestige) held in Glasgow on April 23rd 2023. This organisation was created to showcase and reward outstanding service within the hotel industry, and it was a true honour to accept this recognition!

The Good Hotel Guide 2023 Great Britain and Ireland

The Good Hotel Guide is a leading independent guide to top level accommodation in Great Britain and Ireland and is known by many as the ‘Travel guide bible of the industry‘. Inclusion into the guide book is by invitation only after an anonymous visit to your establishment. I am thrilled to have been included in such a prestigious guide book since 2012.

Gold Laurel Award

The 2020 annual Scottish Hotel Awards ceremony was held on April
26th. Ardtorna was awarded a Gold Laurel Special Commendation Award for its Passion, Design and Innovation to the hospitality industry.
To receive such a prestigious accolade from a well respected organisation within the hospitality world is a proud moment.

Tripadvisor Hall of Fame

Trip Advisor re introduced The Hall of Fame Programme in 2019. This is a certificate that is awarded to businesses that have received a Certificate of Excellence for 5 consecutive years. I was thrilled to receive this!

Visit Scotland 5 Star Gold

Visit Scotland uses a five tier grading system to indicate the standard of service and facilities on offer at establishments. The Gold Award is awarded to those operating at the pinnacle of the grading given. 5 Star Gold is the highest possible grading.
Ardtorna has been 5 Star Gold with Visit Scotland since 2010.

AA 5 Star Gold

AA has awarded Ardtorna 5 Star Gold in recognition of its quality throughout the property and service provided. The gold grading is an indication that Ardtorna is operating in the top 10% of all 5 star properties in Scotland.
Ardtorna has been 5 Star Gold with AA since 2011.

This award is a recognition for consistently achieving the highest standards of customer satisfaction worldwide. The Award is not a ranking list but a group of outstanding accommodations chosen based on a strict set of criteria.

The Scottish Hotel Awards held a presentation at The Blythswood Hotel, Glasgow on January 17th to announce all regional winners within the industry.
Ardtorna was thrilled to win the best B and B for Argyll and Lothian 2018.

The Scottish Hotel Awards National Winner 2017

The prestigious Scottish Hotel Awards Gala dinner was held in Glasgow on April 23rd. Ardtorna was thrilled to receive a beautiful engraved crystal trophy as national winners for 'Scotland's Best B&B 2017' This made me extremely proud, making it the sixth time Ardtorna has been crowned 'Scotland's Best B&B' in the past seven years.

On Sunday May 7th The Scottish Food Awards gala dinner was held at the Kings Hall in Edinburgh where hundreds of people involved in the food industry in Scotland came together to find out who the winners were in many categories. Ardtorna was thrilled to win a breakfast award at this event.

Peter Irvine, the author, visited Ardtorna which now features in his in depth guide book on what Scotland has to offer. His unique writing on travel is in its 12th edition, and is Britain’s bestselling independent guide.

AA Breakfast Award 2019

Ardtorna has achieved this award from the AA since 2011. It is awarded in recognition of the high quality and selection of items available on a breakfast menu using as much local produce where possible.

Scottish Thistle Awards National Winner 2016

The Scottish Thistle Awards are led by some of the most senior figures in Scottish tourism. The judging committee comprises of several leading organisations, including Visit Scotland, The hospitality Industry Trust Scotland, Scottish Tourism Alliance, Highlands and Islands Tourist board and The Scottish Licensed Trade Association. I was thrilled to win this prestigious award in 2016 and 2013 with Visit Scotland crowning Ardtorna as the best Guest House for Scotland on both occasions. Winning the award in 2016 meant that Ardtorna had been crowned as the best Guest House for Scotland 5 times in total in the past 6 years.

Highland and Islands Tourism Award 2015

In 2015 Ardtorna won the most hospitable Guest House at a gala dinner in Inverness. It was such an honour to pick up this wonderful trophy from such a prestigious organisation.

The Scottish Hotel Awards Innovation Award 2014

Ardtorna was awarded this amazing trophy in recognition for recent achievements winning the Best Guest House for Scotland in 2013 by all three organisations, The Scottish Hotel Awards, AA and Visit Scotland. The first time in history that all 3 organisations have chosen the same establishment in the one year. This made me very proud.

AA Guest House of the Year for Scotland 2013

I attended a reception in London held by one of the leading grading system platforms, AA. Ardtorna was awarded a beautiful engraved decanter in recognition of winning The best Guest House for Scotland which made me very proud.

Scottish Thistle Awards National Winner 2013

Ardtorna won The Best Guest House for Scotland at an amazing gala dinner held at Stirling Castle. This was an evening of huge celebrations for me at Ardtorna, as not only winning this award I had won this award by all 3 judging organisations Visit Scotland, AA and The Scottish Hotel Awards. The champagne was flowing that evening at a private function after the event hosted by Visit Scotland for all national winners.

The Thistle Awards 2013 Regional Winner

Ardtorna was thrilled to be a winner of this award run by Visit Scotland. As a regional winner Ardtorna went forward to the national finals in November, and was crowned The best Guest House for Scotland 2013.
